What is "Over-Travel (OT)" in heavy-duty limit switches, and why is it critical?
Over-travel refers to the safety distance the actuator can continue moving after the electrical contacts have tripped. In heavy machinery with high inertia, moving parts cannot stop instantaneously upon contact trip. Adequate over-travel absorbs this inertia, preventing physical destruction of the switch shaft or internal module.
